Heute wird Verzicht mit Mangel gleichgesetzt und ist verpönt.
Dabei birgt Verzicht unendliche Schätze. Denn Verzicht ist nicht gleich Mangel.
Ein Mangel herrscht, wenn etwas nicht oder zu wenig vorhanden
und von außen bestimmt ist (extrinsisch).
Verzicht ist ein bewusstes Weglassen, z.B. einer Gewohnheit, eines Genussmittels, eines „Ticks“,
ist also ein bewusster Vorgang und von innen bestimmt (intrinsisch).
Nicht umsonst ist „Fasten“, also freiwilliger Verzicht aufgrund religiöser Regeln,
unverzichtbarer Bestandteil jeder Religion und die Fastenzeit gilt als eine der heiligsten Zeiten, was die Bedeutung des Verzichtes verdeutlicht.
Die momentane “Zwangsisolation”, kann uns lehren, was uns wichtig sein sollte und was unserer Aufmerksamkeit und Pflege verlangt.
Der große Vorteil ist, wir werden quasi gezwungen, doch es ist zeitlich begrenzt, und beim Wegfall mancher Annehmlichkeit,
wird uns deren Bedeutung für uns bewusster.
Es ist eine schlimme Situation, für manche auch existenzbedrohend oder –beendend (beruflich).
Doch, um nicht zu verzweifeln, müssen wir lachen, uns Ziele setzen, alles für ein „danach“ vorbereiten.
Ich sehe täglich einen beinahe flugzeuglosen Himmel, die Lärmbelastung ist auf Sonntagsniveau reduziert,
die Luftverschmutzung ist ungewohnt niedrig, etc.
Und plötzlich erkennt man, was man zwar zu selten hat, doch vor lauter „Geschäftigkeit“ gar nicht vermisst.
Weil man mit Dingen beschäftigt ist; damit den Schein zu wahren, statt zu Sein.
Die Ruhe des Geistes wird beinahe unmöglich gemacht, ist jedoch für einen gesunden Geist unerlässlich.
Wir wissen genau, was wir nicht wollen, doch verbringen manche ihr Leben damit herauszufinden,
was sie eigentlich wollen.
Wer diese Frage endgültig beantworten kann, ist frei.
Es geht weniger um den Verzicht als solches, also um „einen Mangel an …“,
als vielmehr um die vielfältigen Strategien die man entwickelt, um trotzdem glücklich zu sein.
Und zwar Strategien um, ohne das weggefallene Mittel der Zerstreuung, klarzukommen.
Einfach mal Pause machen, innere Ruhe einkehren lassen und mit dem Menschen klarkommen, der uns für immer begleitet,
uns selbst.
Die Konsumgesellschaft wehrt sich vehement gegen jede Art von Verzicht, da ein Bewusstwerden der Sinnlosigkeit vieler Dinge und Zerstreuungen nichts anderes bewirken, als bewussteren Konsum.
Also die Frage: „Brauche ich das wirklich ?“
Das ist nicht „absatzfördernd“, und somit ungewollt.
Im Grunde ist es also nicht die Notwendigkeit zu konsumieren, um zu überleben, wie es „normal“ wäre, sondern ein gelerntes und gewolltes Verhalten, ausgelöst durch eine suchtprovozierende Industrie.
Die Vorteile von Konsumverzicht, auch durch zeitweiliges Fasten, sind vielfältig:
- Man lernt, dass Verzicht nicht existenzbedrohend ist,
denn man lernt, mit dem Verzicht zu leben - Durch die Übernahme der Kontrolle über das eigene Leben, wird dieses reicher und befriedigender.
- Verzicht verschiebt die Grenze des „Aushaltbaren“ nach oben, da nicht sofort die Existenz bedroht ist.
Die „Frustrationstoleranzgrenze“ steigt. - Man lernt, seine Ziele weiter zu stecken, da man genug „Zeit“ hat, die man sonst mit Zerstreuung vergeuden würde.
- Ein Gefühl der Freiheit zu denken entwickelt sich, da man sich aus einer Abhängigkeit löst.
- Durch die Erfahrungen, kann man momentane Aufgaben fertigstellen, ohne zu einer Triebbefriedigung „gezwungen“ zu sein, man wird zunehmend gelassener.
Es entsteht so weniger ein Gefühl der Eile, die zu unbefriedigenden Ergebnissen führt.
Prioritäten werden anders gesetzt. - Man lernt, sich auf das Leben zu konzentrieren und zu reflektieren,
denn jede Navigation beginnt mit der Standortbestimmung.
Ich betone noch einmal:
Es ist keine Aufforderung zu, oder ein Schönreden von Armut !
Durch den Verzicht auf „Ersatzbefriedigung“, die Beschäftigung des Geistes, kann der Geist wieder das ganze Hirn nutzen und man kommt auf Ideen, die sonst in der geistigen Geschäftigkeit untergehen
(konstruktive Hektik, ersetzt geistige Windstille).

Das ist keine Predigt auf alles zu verzichten und zu glauben, man werde dadurch freier.
Alleiniger Verzicht ist Mangel, den man beheben sollte und führt zu Zwangsneurosen.
Man sollte Verzicht üben (Üben im wahrsten Sinne), nicht etwa verzichten müssen.
Spaß ist das Wichtigste und Zerstreuung ist unabdingbar, um nicht ins Grübeln zu geraten.
Das macht unser Leben aus.
Das Klarkommen mit Verzicht, schult unsere Lösungsstrategien.
So hat ein „Fastender“ immer eine Alternative, da er nicht abhängig ist von der Erfüllung dieses einen Wunsches
und nicht an ihm festhalten muss.
Es ist nur ein kleiner Teil, achtungs- und respektvollen Lebens.
Alleine dadurch wird man nicht erleuchtet oder so.
Aber das Bewusstsein wird verändert und vieles verliert an Bedeutung,
Essentielles jedoch gewinnt an ihr.
